Quake 3 VR (q3vr)

Quake III Arena

About

Quake 3 VR (q3vr) is a PCVR port of Quake 3 Arena, based on the community-maintained ioquake3 engine and the Quest port (Quake3Quest). It includes bugfixes, VR-specific improvements, and quality-of-life features. The port offers a full single-player campaign and multiplayer support with crossplay between PC and Quest. Features include 6DoF movement, a weapon selection wheel, haptics, a virtual screen, and comfort options such as vignette and height adjustment. It supports playing on many community servers and simpler mods. The project is developed by RippeR37 and hosted on GitHub. It is an unofficial, fan-made port not affiliated with Bethesda or id Software. It runs on Windows and Linux (PCVR), requiring a VR runtime such as SteamVR. The game can be downloaded from GitHub Releases as either an installable or portable version. It ships with a demo version out of the box; owners of the full game can place pak0.pk3 in the baseq3/ subdirectory. Users can also build it themselves from source using CMake. Default controls are documented for Valve Index controllers, with custom bindings supported.
