Vivecraft is a VR mod that transforms Minecraft into an exceptional VR experience in room-scale or seated play. It requires the original PC Java edition of Minecraft and supports Minecraft versions 1.7.10 and 1.10 through 1.20.1. Vivecraft works best in roomscale with SteamVR-compatible hardware such as HTC Vive or Cosmos, Valve Index, Oculus Rift S, and Windows Mixed Reality headsets. It can also be played on Mobile VR devices such as Oculus Quest, GearVR, PSVR, Daydream, Cardboard, or Vive Focus via SteamVR Emulators. It works in single player, LAN multiplayer, and server multiplayer.
All standalone versions include Optifine for performance and support shaders. The Forge modding platform is supported on most standalone versions. Starting with Minecraft 1.18, Vivecraft is available as a Fabric and Forge compatible mixin mod (hosted on CurseForge). Server plugins are available for Spigot and Forge to enhance the VR multiplayer experience. Vivecraft supports Mixed Reality and undistorted desktop mirroring for streamers. The Vivecraft NonVR Companion mod lets non-VR friends see your head and hand movements in multiplayer. It is optimized for standing play with motion controllers and also supports seated play with mouse and keyboard.
VR features include: full roomscale support (blocks are 1 meter in size); world scaling (play as an ant or a giant); breaking blocks and fighting by swinging hands; two-handed bow drawing and aiming; climbing, swimming, running, jumping, sneaking, eating, crawling, and rowing by doing the actual motion; context-sensitive interactions for doors, pistons, levers, animals, buckets, and more; multiplayer with visible VR movements (even for 2D players); and multiple VR locomotion options including arc teleportation, free-movement in the direction you point the controller or head, walkabout-style rotation for 100% room-scale movement, seated play with WASD in look direction, and Climbey-inspired wall-scaling and leaping.
